Three Pitchers Work Together As Cincinnati Spikes 14U Shuts Out Ohio Elite
Cincinnati Spikes 14U defeated Ohio Elite 12-0 on Sunday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Cincinnati Spikes 14U secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the first inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Lucas Moore, Nik Copenhaver, and Moore, sacrifice flies by Carson Dunn and Braedyn Moore, by Brett Denby, and a double by Nazario Pangallo.
In the first inning, Cincinnati Spikes 14U got their offense started when Moore singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
One bright spot for Ohio Elite was a single by Baker in the first inning.
Denby led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Cincinnati Spikes 14U. He lasted two innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out five.
