Coach Wright named All-Decade Team for Ballarmine Baseball

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — With COVID-19 putting fall sports on the shelf this season, the Bellarmine Athletics Communication staff is using part of this time to shine the spotlight on some of the top student-athletes of the past 10 years by naming the Bellarmine All-Decade teams. The teams recognize student-athletes who competed for the Knights at least two seasons from the 2010-11 school year to the 2019-20 school year. Additionally, Bellarmine fans are being asked to join in the process by casting votes for Player of the Decade and Pitcher of the Decade. Today, we name the Bellarmine All-Decade Team for Baseball, which is comprised of 16 players (five starting pitchers, one relief pitcher, one catcher, four infielders by position, three outfielders, one designated hitter and one utility).

Bellarmine highlighted a former Spikes player, Nick Wright.

First Base — Nick Wright (2013-16)
One of the team’s more reliable players during some mid-decade rebuilding, Wright was a first-team All-GLVC selection in 2015. For his career, which spanned three seasons, the native of Indianapolis batted .305 with five homers, 32 doubles and 85 RBIs.

A three-year starter, Wright batted .313 with three homers, 14 doubles and 32 RBIs as a sophomore and .308 with two homers, 13 doubles and 31 RBIs as a junior. He earned Academic All-GLVC laurels.
